Bosch dishwasher error E10 (E:10)

Your Bosch dishwasher shows E10 or E:10. This is not a water-supply code on Bosch: it points to the drying heater.

Short answer

Fault in the drying system: the Zeolite (CrystalDry) chamber heater.

What E10 (E:10) means on Bosch

Bosch lists E10 as a Zeolite (CrystalDry) chamber heater fault. Zeolite is a mineral in a small chamber that absorbs moisture and releases heat to dry dishes. When this heater has a fault, drying performance is likely to suffer.

Safety first. Switch the appliance off at the wall or breaker before you open any panel. Heaters, pumps and control boards run on mains voltage: replacing them is a job for a qualified technician. More safety notes

Step-by-step fix

  1. Reset at the breaker

Bosch's own first step: switch the dishwasher off at the breaker (or unplug it) for 30 seconds, then switch it back on.

  2. Run a normal cycle

If the code does not return and dishes dry, it was a glitch. Note the date in case it comes back.

  3. Do not open the drying chamber

The Zeolite heater sits inside the machine and runs on mains power. It is not a user-serviceable part.

  4. Call Bosch serviceCall a pro

If E10 comes back, contact Bosch customer support (in the USA 1-800-944-2904) or book a Bosch-approved engineer, and quote the model (E-Nr) and the code.

Common causes

  • Fault in the Zeolite / CrystalDry chamber heater
  • Temporary electronics glitch (Bosch's first step is a power reset)

How to prevent it

  • Use rinse aid and dishwasher salt as the manual recommends
  • Descale if you see E12 (limescale in the heat pump)
  • Keep the machine on a dedicated, correctly rated circuit

Tools & parts you may need

  • Nothing for owners beyond a power reset: the heater is a technician part

FAQ

Can I still use my Bosch dishwasher with E10?

Bosch recommends a power reset, then a service call if the code stays.

Is Bosch E10 a water-fill problem?

No. Some repair sites say so, but Bosch's own support page lists E10 as a Zeolite (CrystalDry) chamber heater fault.

Do Siemens and Neff use the same code?

Siemens (same BSH group) says E10 is a drying-system fault. For Neff we have not yet found an official definition, so check your Neff manual.
